School staff member Katie Irwin talks about her family’s special holiday tradition called “Crazy Irwin Christmas Cards”. Every year since Katie’s Grandfather passed in 2005, her family has created fun and silly Christmas Cards to share with others! One year, her family even dressed up in bathing suits and went out in the snow to capture the card’s cover photo. The title was, “Here’s our beach, how is yours?” The Irwin family had many other creative ideas like: Rock’n Round the Christmas tree, Santa-tizing (Covid year), Christmas Group Therapy, and many more. They plan on creating one this year but the theme is yet to be announced.
Katie enjoys Christmas because she gets to spend time with family and see the holiday spirit in the young family members. At one point in time, she got to celebrate Christmas with 75 loved ones! Although Katie fills the holiday with many fun activities and traditions, Christmas is not her favorite holiday; it’s Thanksgiving!
While traditions fill the Christmas season, what does Christmas really mean?
