Most people would say "Teamwork makes the dream work,” but is that true?
Mr. Waterbury, head football coach says “Teamwork is all about sacrifices” and “ The biggest hurdle is the difference between the grades”.
Head volleyball coach Ms. Irwin said “I do not think a team can succeed without teamwork. Teamwork to me is more important than talent. To win a game it is always going to take more than one individual to get the job done. If a team is not communicating, not cheering one another on, and problem-solving together, it will be tough to win a game together.’
Sophomore Grace Hendrickson says “ Teamwork is important because it creates a safe environment where you are free to share what you'd like and get feedback. You can also work together to fix problems faster and more efficiently.”
Ella Taylor, a freshman says “No teamwork no team. Simple as that.”
Dominic Candelaria, a junior says “Teamwork is important because it helps build bonds between friends and it helps people connect and do their best when around each other.”
Bryanna Tobey, a senior says “Teamwork is important because it is easier to accomplish more when people work together. If people are always divided, agreement will not happen, and no one will be happy.”
Mr. Taylor, a science teacher, responded, “2 members of a team working towards different or opposing goals is counterproductive and a waste of time. If members of a team work together, the team can use the individual strengths of its members which can minimize weak spots.”
Mr. LaPage, a math teacher said “It teaches you how to work together to achieve a common goal. Sometimes you have to work with people that you don't always get along with, or you don't agree with, or sometimes you just plain don't like being around. By having to work as a team, you can work beyond your differences and come to a result that is beneficial to everybody involved. One of my favorite posters I've seen as a teacher says "T.E.A.M. Together Everybody Achieves More.”
The students and staff at Central Dewitt have all agreed that teamwork is key to success in sports and group activities. If you don’t have any teamwork then your team won’t be as successful as a team with teamwork. You should try and use teamwork in any aspect of your life because it could benefit you in so many ways.
