Happy Valentine’s Day, Sabers! This year, the Purple Onion Staff have put together a vote for the Cutest Couple, the Cutest Friends, and the Cutest Teachers. And today, the winners have been announced!
With 76 votes, the cutest friend duo at Central Dewitt is senior Caleb Olson and junior Noah Ericksen (left)! They have been friends for around 3 years, and became friends during musical season Noah's freshman year when he needed Caleb to give him a ride home and have been friends ever since.
Other nominees for this title were juniors Kelton Collins and Alex Brown, seniors Nora McAvan and Grace Patterson, sophomores Marissa Fee and Khalief Tanner, and juniors Micheal Palmer and Benson Blanchard.
The cutest teacher duo here at Central Dewitt, with 72 votes, is Mr. Schwartz and Dolly (right). Mr. Schwartz has worked here for 4 years, and teaches history and government. He adopted Dolly 8 and a half years ago. Dolly is "Some kind of terrier and chihuahua." Mr. Schwartz says. She was named after a First Lady, Dolley Madison.
The other teachers nominated for this title were Mr. and Mrs. Waterbury, Mr. Grell and Mr. Heckroth, Mr. Crigger and Mr. Donovan, and Mr. Greubel and Mr. Uttech.
Last but not least, the cutest couple at our school, with 67 votes, is seniors Laura
Martens and Matthew Boeding (left)! They have been together for just over 3 years, and met "when she let me and my friends into the balcony at the movie theater to mess around my freshman year" Matthew says. For Valentine's day, they plan on getting each other gifts and went on a date to celebrate earlier this week.
They won by 17 votes over seniors Liam Jess and Sarah Dever. Other nominees were juniors Ava Putman and Hudson Krukow, seniors Parker Petsche and Anna Rickertsen, and freshmen Nile Killean and Grace Green.
